Attachment theory, zen, and mothering: the three threads that are braided together in Bethany Saltman's Strange Situation. It's meditative and reflective, digging into the history of attachment research and the woman behind much of the seminal work with mothers and children: Mary Ainsworth and the Strange Situation experiments. But no dry biography, it follows Saltman's journey as she explores the ideas of attachment, applies them to her own life as a child and a mother, and brings in her experience and background with zen meditation.

This is not a self-help book, there are no exercises to follow, but it might cause you to change the way you think and feel.
