Books are not how everyone learns, and I don’t believe books are a replacement for counselling. However, they can offer really wonderful resources. I never expect homework from my clients, but for clients who are interested, I will often offer titles to borrow from my library, or recommend resources for clients to track down on their own, if people are looking for ways to bring some of the ideas we are discussing in-session home and explore in more detail. I also know that counselling can be expensive, and sometimes books are a lot more accessible, especially with a library card.
With that in mind, I offer reviews of books I read that I find useful or insightful on various aspects of the human condition. Please know that I’m not trying to profit off this resource in any way, that it’s just a collection of books I find helpful, thoughtful, or joyful, and I offer them to you in case you find them helpful, too. Because of this, I only link to author websites so you can find more information about the books if you are curious. These links are not monetized or affiliate links.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
